Learners of seven schools in Thabong have been selected to join a junior SAPS mangement team that will assist the police in their endevour to ensure that safety prevails in schools in Thabong.
High School learners of Nanabolela, Lebohang, Lephola, Letsete, Lenakeng, Thotagauta and Lekgarietsa together with their educators were invited to take part in the police program.
This initiative is called the Thabong SAPS Junior Station Commander Program. Two learners in grade 8 and grade 9 of each school took part and they were assigned to debate about how to address the root causes of crime in the schools. They also had to present solutions.
Ms. Ofentse Jantjie of the Letsete High School was elected as the Junior Station Commander of Thabong Police Station.
The other junior management members include Naledi Njekelane (junior detective commander), Katleho Nhlapo (junior VISPOL commander), Onkarabdtse Stoffel (junior support commander) and Tshepiso Ratsoene (junior station commander co-ordinator).
