The Thuso Mafatle Arise and shine Campaign visited various schools in Matjha-beng to motivate and preach the gospel.
“I speak to the learners about how to approach life in a better and more generous way,” says Thuso Mafatle, a young Welkom entrepreneur.
He also assists and motivates the youth who are abusing drugs, and who are being abused by society and in their home environments. “I believe in quality of life for all,” he says.
Mafatle matriculated from Welkom-Gimnasium in 2019, and then moved to Johannesburg 2020 where he did a six-month motivational speaker course at a private institute.
“I am based in Welkom and I pursue my calling to preach at the schools, and to motivate and show the youth the right way of how to structure their lives,” he says.
Mafatle has already spoken at Welkom-Gimnasium on numerous occasions, and also at other schools and farm schools in the district. “I visit children’s homes where the issues like depression and stress are dealt with.”
Mafatle’s plans to visit all of the schools in the district this year as he wants to set children on the right path.
“I would like to make it my aim that by the end of 2023, each child in Matjha- beng is motivated and educated,” he says.
Mafatle would also like to introduce feeding schemes, and a food parcel drive at the needy schools in Matjhabeng.
