Youth invited to participate in GBV awareness productions

Ziyaduma Arts Promotions invites youths and learners to take part in its gender-based violence (GBV) awareness productions, which are being rehearsed. This is in preparation of 16 Days of Activism for No Violence against Women and Children in Decembe

The
Ziyaduma Arts Promotions (Z.A.P) invites out-of-school youths and learners
interested in taking part in it’s Gender Based Violence awareness stage plays
and poems that are currently being rehearsed.

This is in
preparation of 16 Days of Activism against Gender Based Violence and Women and
Children Abuse that will be held nationally from 25 November to 10 December.

The
rehearsals are held daily at Lejweleputswa Arts and Culture Center, behind the
Thabong Community Centre from10:00 to 13:00 for out-of-school youths and on
Saturdays from 10:00 to 13:00 for learners and students.

The plays
and poems will be performed in different Matjhabeng communities, schools and
churches during the 16 Days of Activism, says Miya. Different community
organisations, governmental and non-governmental departments, stakeholders
wishing to partner with Ziyaduma Arts Promotions during their campaigns are
welcome.

Ziyaduma
Arts Promotions has spread it’s wings to Phomolong in Hennenman and it operates
from Phomolong Public Library from 10:00 to 13:00 during school holidays.

The Talente
Ya Ka Cultural Group, established and led by Jessie Sprinkaan, is it’s first
affiliated group. They are currently rehearsing one of Miya’s Gender Based
Violence plays.

Miya’s
plays relate strong social and community-driven messages and often cover topics
like TB, HIV and Aids, GBV, drugs and gang wars.

Students
and learners in Hennenman can contact Jessie Sprinkaan on 078-631-0986, Ntate

Library.
