The Eskom Expo’s vision is not only to inspire young scientists, but also to stimulate their interest in the sciences.
Alastair Smart, one of the convenors of this annual event says they want to encourage young scientists to shift their focus to Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, and Innovation (STEMI) education by giving them an opportunity to think beyond the learning in the classroom. The Regional Eskom Expo for Young Scientists will take place on 16 and 17 August at the Toronto Centre, St Andrew’s School Welkom. Projects will be on exhibition and be judged. The projects will be open to the public on 17 August from 11:00 to 13:00.
A Gr. 12 Life Sciences quiz will be held in the auditorium of the school from 9:00 to 12:00.
