Launched by Lydia Letuka in 2022, Nalane Yaka Media NPC is an arts and culture company based in Phahameng, Bultfontein, aiming at promoting, educating, encouraging, and informing people of their heritage.

Letuka launched the company to make sure that her young son, LJ Letuka, would excel in his studies.

The ten-year-old LJ wrote a book, titled Hope Anthology, based on bullying and discrimination.

LJ was born with poor vision and he stutters. Growing up, he has faced a lot of teasing and discrimination issues. Lydia has done all she can to make sure that her son excells at school, and this is why she started Nalane Yaka Media.

She also established the Kids Phahameng Book Club and Fun Club.

“We do homework, projects, research, drama, dance, fine arts, book reading, writing, and theatrical performances. We have been to the Macufe Wordfest, where LJ’s book was first launched in October 2022. Through the literacy work we do at the book club, we develop the children’s talents by mentoring them to read and write their own work and help them publish and market it.”

LJ’s book addresses issues like bulling, discrimination, poor vision, and stuttering.

The local launch of the book will be on 4 March at the Phahameng Community Hall at 07:00. Admission is free.
