A 22-year-old man was arrested, and a stolen car was recovered, after a collaborative effort between the Welkom Anti-Gang Unit (AGU), Welkom Visible Policing members, and a vehicle tracking company.
The joint operation led to the successful recovery of a stolen vehicle in Riebeeckstad, Welkom.
According to Sgt Palesa Thabana, spokesperson for the police in Lejweleputswa, the owner reported the matter to the Welkom police on Sunday, 20 April.
“It is alleged that the black BMW was stolen while parked overnight, outside a liquor establishment in Welkom.
The vehicle was traced to an address in Riebeeckstad. Police officers swiftly responded and recovered a black BMW 420i sedan, worth an estimated value of R400 000
