A 12-year-old girl from Welkom hopes to not only make herself proud, but the entire province too.
In October she wants to bring home the title Little Miss South Africa.
Hamame Ashengo, daughter of Tsegaye and Moleboheng, won Little Miss Free State in April at the Windmill Casino in Bloemfontein.
She now hopes to continue her success at the Little Miss South Africa event in October.
She ascribes having achieved her success at the Free State pageant to the support she received from her parents, her family and her school, Dunamis Christian school in Welkom.
Hamame has been modelling since the age of 7 and has won many titles in the past six years.
“All credit goes to my mom who has made it possible for me to believe in myself in every possible way along the journey,” says Hamame.
To realise her dream in October she needs the support of her community. “With my community’s support I aim to bring the title back home and with this I want to inspire many more little girls to believe in themselves and know that no matter how young they are, achievements can be made in life,” she says.
