The Winburg police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the discovery of an unknown woman found floating in the Sandriver at the Allanmanskraal dam.

The woman is presumed to be aged between 30 and 35.

The body was discovered by a fisherman on Saturday (26/11) at about 11:00. “He immediately informed the police, and the woman’s body was retrieved from the river by police divers,” says Capt. Stephen Thakeng, media liaison officer for the Lejweleputswa SAPS.

The deceased woman is light in complexion, medium built, 1,7 m in height, braided black hair, she has an old burn scar on the left side of her stomach. She was wearing a green t-shirt, multi-coloured leggings, green socks, blue and pink Nike sneakers.

Thakeng says a case of inquest is been investigated.
