The women in blue from police stations in the Lejweleputswa District and the provincial office conducted a road block and a show of force outside of Theunissen in the Masilonyana district.

Operation Basadi was conducted on Friday 12/08, and numerous women involved in law enforcement conducted the gigantic road block to celebrate Women’s Month.

They searched 314 people and 156 vehicles, and six summonses for traffic-related offences were issued to motorists who did not comply with the road traffic laws.

The overall commander of the operation was Brig. Disebo Cezula, while Col. Senobia Solomon was the operational commander.

WO Kukile Mnyamane and Lt Col Ntombizodwa Mtshungwane from the Provincial Office in Bloemfontein, were present, as was Col Montsheng Mohokare from Lejweleputswa District, Lt Col Nosizi Mangani, commander of Welkom 10111.

Brig. Disebo Cezula addressed the parade and voiced her appreciation to the involvement of women in blue. She also thanked the provincial office for assisting them with this gigantic operation.

“More operations and events from the Lejweleputswa District Women in blue are in the offing to ensure that residents are, and feel safe,” she said.
