The Welkom Muslim Community warmed the hearts of 325 people this winter, during the annual Operation Winter Warmth drive.
Each person received a blanket and 10 kg maize meal. The total value distributed amounted to R84 500.
“We tried to target the poorest of the poor in different areas of the Goldfields” says Dr Yacoob Vahed secretary of the organisation.
The Muslim community encourages one and all to help our less fortunate citizens in whatever way possible. They are motivated by the need to share and assist.
“Besides the joy of giving and the smiles of the recipients, our ultimate reward is only with The Almighty,” says Vahed.
