A learner at the Welkom-Gymnasium High School went missing on Friday, 26 January. Members of the Thabong police have initiated a search for her.
Modiehi Betty reported her daughter, Ongratile Moreki (16), missing on Thursday, 1 February. She told the police her daughter had left home dressed in her school uniform on the Friday at about 07:05.
The mother realised that same day at night that her daughter had not returned from school. She contacted one of her daughter’s friends who informed her that she never arrived at school.
On Sunday, 28 January, a boy known to the mother arrived at her home with Ongratile’s school bag with her uniform inside. When asked how he got hold of this school bag, he responded that another boy known to the family gave it to him to bring to Ongratile’s mother.
