A tip-off has lead to a man being arrested for selling dagga at a school in Welkom.

On 8 August, members of the Welkom Public Order Policing (POP) received information about a 17-year-old boy selling dagga sent by his older brother during break, to sell to other learners. The boy’s home in Thabong was identified and searched.

The suspect was found selling dagga to his clients.

The following were found: 5 litres of dagga, 12 medium ziplock bags containing dagga, and 26 small ziplock bags containing dagga which weighs 600 g with a street value of R4 150.

A 30-year-old suspect was arrested for dealing in dagga and appeared in the Welkom Magistrates’ Court on 8 August.
