The Welkom-based Serious Organised Crime Investigation (SOCI) detectives are looking for a group of suspects in connection with robberies that occurred in Virginia and Odendaalsrus.
In the first incident a cash delivery van arrived at a hardware store in Virginia on 22 July to collect money. One security guard was accosted by three armed suspects who were waiting for him inside the shop.
He was disarmed and an undisclosed amount of cash taken before suspects fled the scene in a silver Toyota Corolla. One male suspect was wearing a blue overall jacket with a green hat.
In another incident on 12 August, a cash delivery van arrived at a filling station near the taxi rank in Odendaalsrus.
One security guard went inside to load cash, and two armed male suspects accosted him.
He was disarmed and an undisclosed amount of cash taken before suspects fled the scene in a grey VW Polo.
Both male suspects were wearing blue overall jackets with hats.
