A group of residents from Rheederpark, Welkom, marched down stateway in a peace march to the municipal offices to hand over the memorandum of their demands as a community.

On Friday (26/05) morning residents of Extention 2, Rheederpark, undertook a peace walk to the Matjhabeng municipal offices to hand over a memorandum with the demands they want the municipality to address.

The memorandum had the following points, among others, they want addressed: Expedite the acceptance of the land donation from Harmony mine; a council item should be submitted to the section 80 committee for human settlements before the next council sitting; installing electricity for the golf course after site allocation; a report on the phase 2 of the electrification of Rheederpark extention 2; and adequate water supply to households.
