The police have initiated a search for a person reported missing by the Lunkamase Disabled Multi-Purpose Centre in Doorn.

Residents of Welkom are asked to help police locate Shanku Joseph Tsomakae (63) who was reported missing by the manager of the centre on Monday, 10 July.

The manager stated that she went to Tsomakae’s room as she was supposed to take him to the bank.

When she could not find the elderly man in his room, the manager looked for him in the yard but could not find him.

She then realised that the barbed wire connected to the wall was down. The matter was reported to the Welkom police and a missing persons file was registered. Tsomakae has not been seen since.

Tsomakae is tall, light in complexion, has a grey beard and short, grey hair. He was last seen wearing khaki trousers and a black jacket.
