A Gr. 8-learner of the Goudveld-Hoërskool has been granted the opportunity to go to America in recognition of her outstanding academic records.
Tshireletso Thekisho (14) has been selected to take part in the ninth annual Academic Achievers Tour.
She decided on America, instead of England or Ireland. The trip commences in October next year, and lasts 11 days.
Not only is Tshireletso a brainiac, she is also a sports achiever.
She plays for the U14A Goudveld hockey team and is an accomplished athlete (hurdles), both of which she has attained her sporting colours for. Tshireletso is also an avid member of the Voortrekkers youth organisation.
A big hurdle to her dream of travelling is the almost R78 000 she still needs. The costs include the itinerary, program details and estimated expenses.
