The Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (Cogta) has been asked to urgently intervene in the Matjhabeng water crisis and suspend all load shedding to areas where the reservoirs are situated.

George Michalakis, member of parliament and the DA Permanent Delegate to the National Council of Provinces, referred the matter to Cogta Free State for immediate intervention.

“Residents’ constitutional rights must not continue to be violated,” he says.
