A successful 6 km TB awareness fun walk was held in the Welkom central business district (CBD).
The Welkom CBD Clinic Centre committee, in collaboration with the Free State District Department of Health, held the walk on Thursday (24/03) to create awareness about this dreaded disease.
The walk was used to highlight the importance of visiting and utilising heath centres for all-inclusive screening, testing, cure and related medical services.
Different organisations and government departments including that of health, the Department of Education and emergency services took part.
Some of the dignitaries who participated are: Koto Matlapane of 1Life 911 first responders, Rasmeni Madisebo, the district TB co-ordinator, Mamahase Mohale, who is the senior education specialist for Sport, Youth, Arts and Recreation, and Thulo Mamello, clinic community development worker.
