A local and talented five-man group, the Mohlakeng Acapellas, is doing extremely well on the local music scene.
The group comprises Jimmy Mokoena, Lucky Puso, Morapeli Motaung, Mpho Radebe, and Teboho Macheli who all hail from Nyakallong, Allanridge.
They have performed with The Soil, Micasa, Tshepo Tshola, Afrika Mamasand are currently working with the renowned Ladysmith Black Mambazo.
Mohlakeng Acapellas have also performed at prestigious festivals around the country, including shooting virtual television concerts.
A few of their hits have been playlisted on various radio stations.
The group has also released a mass collaboration song titled Asibavikele with Ladysmith Black Mambazo and Mondli Ngcobo under Ladysmith Black Mambazo’s mobile academy of cultural heritage, which is currently enjoying airplay on various television music channels.
The group has released 11 tracks on their first official album, titled The Sedge Motho o kgonwa ke sa hae. It was released on 8 December 2023 under Gallo Records.
