The Moravian Methodist Church engaged in outreach activities and visited the local dumping site near Bronville.
“When we asked them about what brings them there, they say it is because of hunger and poverty.
“So as the church, our intervention is to do one of our seven pillars of the Moravian church, which is evangelism and telling and living the good news of Christ’s salvation.
“We must preach the gospel and do good work for love and kindness in the world,” says Rev. Molotlhanyi Joseph Setlaelo.
“We went to the site, to uplift the souls of the people who thought that they are rejected. We gave them clothes, food, and spiritual motivation (revival),” he says.
The revival was led by Setlaelo.
He and the church were practicing what the Moravian Ethos says: “The law of love is the law of Christ for all his disciples; the spirit and practice of Christian love is an indispensable condition of faithful membership in the Methodist Church.”
“We need to support those who are in need. When we look at the situation where these people stay it is touching.
“We need to pray for our people to get jobs and places to stay. Our government needs to do something to the people who stay in that dumping side, especially at this point in time of the season,” he says.
The church is situated in Putswastene, Thabong, 14311 James Moroka Street.
