To identify the challenges that learners of the Emboninisweni Primary School are facing, members of the Embrace Ambition Organisation visited them in celebration of Women’s Day.

The visit to this school in Las Vegas, Thabong, took place on Saturday (12/08).

“On Sunday we went to Hani Park Ward 23, where we visited people with disabilities who are facing challenges. The problems we encountered included a seven-year-old boy who was not able to get to a school because both his parents are working.

“There were other children who did not have identification documents or birth certificates which enable them to attend a school.

“We also found an 18-year-old boy who cannot walk, and who sleeps a lot. He needs a wheelchair,” says Serame Phakisi, chairperson of the Embrace Ambition Organisation.

Phakisi says this boy has never attended school. Anyone who can assist by donating a weelchair, can contact the organisation.

Embrace Ambition will also be visiting the Tsakane Primary School, Mantshebo Primary School, Leboneng Special School and the Orion Special School.

Phakisi can be contacted on 067-850-9778.
