Living in South Africa at present brings with it a lot of uncertainties.

We have the rising cost of living and rising fuel prices. Unemployment is up and government is pressured to help.

So the question is: How are you being affected? Are you stressed not knowing what the future holds? Are you worried about how you will survive?

The following scripture comes to mind.

In Philippians 4:6 – 7, we as Christians are told not to be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, to present our requests to God.

Paul wrote that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard our hearts and our minds in Christ.

You see, it is not about what is happening. It is about your focus. I do not know what your relationship with Jesus is like. Maybe you do not know him as your saviour. But let me assure you, I know Him as mine and I have absolute peace in my heart. All these things going on in our beautiful country are part of life. We cannot escape them.

However, I can testify that in the midst of all my trials, I have always experienced His peace. I have no idea what my future holds, but as I bring all my prayers and requests to Jesus, I experience His peace because I am God’s child.

So what should you do? Maybe it is time to turn to Jesus and reach out to Him. Maybe then you will experience the peace I am talking about. If you do not have a relationship with Jesus by accepting Him as your saviour, I would suggest you reach out to a nearby bible-based church so you can start your journey of being His disciple.
