On Tuesday 20 September two suspects in their late thirties handed themselves over to the Hawks Serious Commercial investigation team based in Bethlehem in connection with a bogus investment scheme.

It is alleged that in 2020, the victims invested their money into a bogus investment scheme with a promise of getting interest return after 30 days.

The victims did not receive their money as promised and the suspects were no longer available at their place of business in Ladybrand. As a result the victims suffered a total loss of more than R600 000. The matter was reported to the Hawks for further investigation.

The suspects will appear in court soon.
