Two kidnapped from shop

The Lejweleputswa SAPS have launched a manhunt after two foreign nationals were kidnapped and a supermarket customer’s vehicle was hijacked.


The Lejweleputswa SAPS have launched a manhunt after two foreign nationals were kidnapped and a supermarket customer’s vehicle was hijacked.

On 16 June at about 18:30 the business owner (40) of the Arafah Supermarket in Tugela circle, St Helena, Welkom, was approached by four unknown armed men.

He managed to flee to the nearby flats. The suspects entered the premises and kidnapped his brother and uncle at gunpoint.

They took a silver Polo Vivo belonging to a customer, who was in the shop with his children.

The suspects forced the two victims to get into the customer’s silver Polo Vivo with registration number CTR 213 NC. They fled the scene.

A case of kidnapping, business robbery and car jacking has been registered for further investigation.
