A Kutloanong rapist has been given life imprisonment, and his co-accused has been sentenced to 15 years in jail, following the rape of a 45-year-old woman in 2015.
The Welkom Regional Court sentenced Thansanqa Mzidi (20) to 15 years in jail and Donald Ledima Phogole (26) to life imprisonment for a rape and sexual offence that had been committed in the K9 section of Kutloanong, Odendaalsrus.
Mzidi had pleaded guilty and was sentenced for rape by the Welkom Regional Court during 2017.
Phogole was in turn found guilty as charged by the same court in Welkom on 23 May and sentenced to life in jail for rape and three years in jail for a sexual offence.
