Three suspects have been arrested for the rape and murder of a 20-year-old Gr. 12 learner of the Tikwana Comprehensive school in Tikwana.

On 30 June the deceased was found lying in an unused yard, bleeding and with a swollen face.

She was naked and could not speak due to her injuries. The victim was taken to a hospital where she passed away.

The members of Hoopstad police, Consts Trinity Ndlovu, Moeketsi Titi, Sergeants Andries Sebolai, Ntomzoto Selemogo, WO Jack Lucher together with the Station Commander, Capt. Lettie van Eeden, operationalised the information which led to three suspects that were arrested for rape and murder on 15 July.

The suspects Dintwe Diphoko (37), Samuel Mjata (29) and Papaki Sebolai (30) appeared in the Hoopstad Magistrate’s Court on 17 July where the case was postponed for bail application on 22 July.
