Within a few hours, two petrol garages in Welkom were robbed by three foreigners fitting the same description.
According to Capt. Stephen Thakeng, police spokesperson for Lejweleputswa, the Provincial Organised Crime Unit is following every lead to trace these suspects.
Both incidents occurred on Saturday (26/03).
The first incident transpired at a garage in Dagbreek.
“Three armed men demanded cash and cartons of cigarettes. Both cash registers were taken,” says Thakeng.
One of the suspects was wearing a red tracksuit top with light grey trousers. He was armed with a firearm and pepper spray.
The second suspect was wearing grey pants, a black jacket and a black cap, while the third suspect was wearing black pants, a green jacket and a red cap.
All three men had Lesotho accents.
In the second incident, the shift manager of a garage in Koppie Alleen Road was approached by three armed men.
Three suspects, fitting the same description, followed the same modus operandi.
