For God so loved the world that He gave his best.
Let us ask ourselves: “Why?”
What was the purpose of this extravagant love? If we do not know what the purpose is, we remain in ignorance. It must have been that you and I and the people of the world from every nation, tribe and tongue are valuable and precious.
Why would Jesus die if that were not the case?
Mankind without Jesus is separated from true life, peace, and joy.
Humanity without a Saviour is disorientated, distorted, and separated.
The entire cosmos is the object of God’s affection. And He is not about to abandon his creation.
The gift of His son is for humanity to realise their origin, and how valuable they are.
The cross announces that the days of regret, distortion, disorientation, state of bankruptcy, and sense of lostness are over.
He has no intention to condemn anyone. He sent his best not to judge, but to be the Saviour of the world.
Fear of eternal punishment is not on God’s agenda. This is the good news.
This is the theme of the coming weekend. This is the message of the cross.
