Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

These words are read in Matthew 5:10.

It is further stated that a blessing is granted to each person who pursues righteousness, even if it means action against the present culture.

The idea is that Jesus congratulates those who rise up against social injustice.

If there is one thing needed in these challenging times, it is righteousness. Righteousness protects people and keeps them safe, fights for and protects identity, ideas, convictions, loved ones, and property.

This road of protection includes the vulnerable who are exposed to and faced with destructive decisions and plans of other adults. In the case of children, adults who make choices on their behalf.

The responsibility for the implementation of righteousness rests with everyone who is in a leadership role or position of power.

Leaders must implement righteousness with integrity, responsibility, impartiality, and reasonableness.

This obligation, however, is not only the responsibility of leaders.

Powerful people have the responsibility to manage righteousness and faith. The community has the responsibility to exhibit it.
