The Thabong police are hunting for those involved in the murder of an educator at the Letsete Secondary School in Thabong, who was murdered on Saturday, 2 December.

Sipho Mothekhe (32) was last seen leaving the LDK tavern in Thabong at about 02:00 after a night out with friends, telling them he might be going to the Limpopo tavern in Thabong.

Afterwards, Mothekhe’s girlfriend tried to get a hold of him in the morning but could not reach him. She went to his residence in the afternoon and his car was still not in his yard.

She then discovered Mothekhe’s body in the house and called for help from neighbours. When the police arrived, they found the kitchen and front burglar doors were forced open, with the door also broken.

The house was ransacked and Mothekhe was found with cuts on his left arm and body, a broken right wrist, and stab wounds to his chest, neck, and the top of his head. A garden spade was found next to his body. His Volkswagen Polo, cellphone, and Hisense HD television were missing.

The Polo was later found abandoned in Virginia.

A case of house robbery, murder, and theft of a motor vehicle was registered for further investigation.
