The House Of Azan, a non-profit organisation based in Thabong, concentrates on the well-being of children, their growth and ensuring they are shaped for a beter future.

Mpho Mbalisa, Mohapi Maphale and Masabata Makara are a formidable trio that is versatile and talented in dance and drama.

“We make regular donations of personal products to schools. We also raise awareness among children to enable them to grow to be adults and to help shape them for a better future,” says Mbalisa.

“We have started with the schools programmes to donate sanitary products to schools, and we also present educational plays and dances,” he says.

Azan has made donations and contributions to the Setshabelo Public School, the Mojaho Primary School and the Tsakani Primary School in the Welkom vicinity.

Mbalisa says they believe art shapes the mindset of children and gives them a clear message.

“The feedback we received from all three schools were positive, and we have maintained a working relationship with all three schools,” he says.

Azan will be expanding the project by donating to orphanages and hospitals for children.

They hope to bring about change and create a safe environment for children in Welkom, while teaching them art in the forms of dance and drama.

“We believe if more people were to donate, we will accomplish many things in Welkom to better the lives of children,” says Mbalisa.

Their motto is: “It’s either you win with us, or watch us win.”
