The second annual Bronville Sports and Arts Festival will be held at the Bronville Stadium in July.

“This festival is currently Welkom’s biggest multi sport and arts festival and more sporting codes and activities have been added to the festival this year,” says DJ Taaibos, who is Welkom’s own entertainment personality, businessman, events co-ordinator and a founder of the Bronville Sports and Arts Festival.

The festival consists of a soccer tournament, netball, rugby, athletics and fun walk, outdoor pageant, a battle of the DJs competition (for unknown and aspiring upcoming local DJs) and a fashion show with cars.

There will also be a schools categories in some of the sporting codes.

Taaibos says a new and exciting inclusion this year is a glitzy and glamour fashion show with cars.

“People will get to see local models in Bronville and Welkom together with models from other towns and cities such as Bloemfontein, Johannesburg, Bethlehem, Virginia, Thaba Nchu and the Vaal,” he says.

Different models of vehicles and brands will be part of this fashion show and different designs by fashion designers will also be showcased, he says.

The aim of Bronville Sports and Arts Festival is to create platform and life changing opportunities for youngsters in different sporting codes and arts.

“We will be inviting different professional scouts as part of this big multi sport and arts festival in Welkom,” says Taaibos.

As part of a build up to the main event there will be a number of coaching clinics in different sporting codes and workshops for the arts.

The official launch and draw for match fixtures will be held on Saturday 27 May at Lejweleputswa Arts and Culture Centre in Welkom.
