A substantial quantity of Crystal Meth and Mandrax, and more than R2 000 cash were seized during raids on houses in Phomolong, Hennenman.
The community of Phomolong received praise from the Acting District Station Commissioner of Lejweleputswa, Brig. Mzondi Mojafi, for reporting drug dealers who were later arrested.
On Wednesday members of the Welkom POP Reaction were working in Phomolong when they received a tipoff about two suspects selling drugs from a residence.
The house was then searched and four halves and six quarters of Mandrax tablet, six Crystal Meth sachets, and also cash amounting to R1 967 were found. The drugs and the money were hidden under the stove. The suspects aged 34 and 37 were arrested for dealing in drugs.
During the search of a second house the police seized eight small Crystal Meth sachets, four full Mandrax tablets, one quarter Mandrax tablet and R310 cash. A 33-year-old suspect was arrested.
