The Bronville police recovered three slaughtered cows, two live cows, and two calves which led to the arrest of two suspected stock thieves.
On 13 September members of the Odendaalsrus Stock Theft and Endangered Species unit contacted the Welkom K9 unit about a stock theft complaint in Bronville.
The Welkom K9 members followed up on the complaint and discovered the cattle, seizing the animals that were found alive.
Two suspects, aged 29 and 44 years, were arrested for stock theft. The suspects appeared in the Welkom Magistrates’ Court on 15 September.
