Two men were arrested for inflicting multiple stab wounds on two women in Odendaalsrus. One of the women died from her wounds, with a third suspect still at large.

On Sunday, 12 November, the Odendaalsrus police received a tip-off about the body of a woman lying under the bridge next to Hospital Park on the R30 road.

The body of the 34-year-old woman was found with multiple stab wounds on her head and body. She was certified dead at the scene by Emergency Medical Services (EMS) personnel.

After preliminary investigations, the second woman was admitted to a hospital in the Goldfields with stab wounds.

Information led the police to a house in Ext. 15 in Bronville, where a 65-year-old man was found busy cleaning blood stains in his black Toyota Yaris and a knife. Both items were seized.

The second suspect is a 35-year-old foreign national, who was arrested shortly afterwards. The police are on the trail of a third suspect.
