The Goldfields Casino and Mall will be hosting a golf day on Friday, 15 March.
“We would like to invite all Goldfields businesses to support our first annual Corporate Social Investment golf fundraiser to support community projects in and around Welkom,” says Franklin Mutota, marketing manager for the casino.
This year’s main beneficiary will be the House of Hope Community Life Development corporation in Welkom.
“House of Hope’s baby milk was previously funded by government. However, currently that funding is no longer an option. In December 2023, Goldfields Casino donated a hundred tins of Lactogen milk to House of Hope. We also started an initiative to challenge other businesses in the Goldfields to match or add to that donation in order to support House of Hope until funding can be re-established,” he says.
The Goldfields Casino and Mall will be hosting the annual golf event at the Oppenheimer Golf Club. The format on the day will be better ball scramble drive.
- Interested golfers can buy in for R4 000 per four ball. This fee covers: a gathering at the golf club’s halfway house;) goodie bags;) two hole-in-one vehicles to be won (holes number 8 and 12);) a prize-giving dinner with entertainment at the Goldfields Casino Conference Centre; and) a champions floating trophy.
“All participating businesses will also get opportunity to sponsor a waterhole on the day. We will display all of the names of our contributors on the golf day. Any prizes can also be donated for this day,” says Mutota.
