A prayer service was held to stand in the gap in prayer in pray for fallen protectors and defenders men and women in blue within the Lejweleputswa district. The event was held on 27 October at the Methodist Church of Southern Africa in Welkom.
The Free State police marching band SAPS Marching Band was part of the service event.
The event was opened with a prayer and past. Mongezi Dada, from the Spiritual Crime Prevention forum, served as the programme director.
Brig. Disebo Cezula welcomed all the guests and rev. chaplain Morake Vinger delivered the purpose of the event.
In his address, he said the police’s spiritual services together with and spiritual crime prevention concepts saw a need to intervene spiritually because God’s earth has been broken and ruined by criminal acts that happen day and night. “He prayed for the police SAPS officers who will be working during the festive season. Operations have already started and now our members can be protected by the Almighty God as they continue to serve and protect law-abiding citizens,” says Capt. Stephen Thakeng .
The Men for Change and the Women’s Network organisations were also represented.
Sgt. Johannes Tlhobo from the District Spiritual Crime Prevention programme spoke about spiritual battles and that everything starts in the spiritual realm.
Brig. Cezula delivered the keynote address on behalf of the Lejweleputswa district commissioner of Lejweleputswa, Maj. Gen. Lerato Molale.
