Welkom SPCA committee:
It is with great sadness that we have had to postpone our highly anticipated Christmas Fair.
It was not an easy decision to make, but definitely the right one.
The Welkom SPCA has been inundated with surrendered animals and our dedicated staff, volunteers and committee have been working around the clock to ensure that we assist where we are needed.
We have decided to prioritise the welfare of our staff, volunteers and most importantly, the animals.
Whilst we re-fuel before the festive season, be assured that we are looking at fun and creative ways of adapting the fair in the new year.
Thank you to all those offering their time and resources to keep the Welkom SPCA operational– we do it for the animals.
The staff shortage resulted after the sudden opening of three key positions at the SPCA. It is imperative that these positions are filled with appropriate candidates to ensure the continued welfare of the animals receives top priority.
We urgently need to employ a trainee inspector or inspector, a kennel manager and an office administrator.
