Mthimkhulu FC is one of the most trending football teams in Welkom.
Also known as Khulukhulu Ayeye they are already playing for Matjhabeng Masters League under Safa.
The club was established early in 2022.
The second leg of the league started on 19 February this year and the team has already played against Dimamarela FC.
Mthimkhulu Masters won 3–1 against Dimamarela in the Bronville stadium.
They also have a team of young people who play under the name Wafa Wafa.
Mthimkhulu FC usually plays in the Zuka Baloi Stadium on Sunday. To improve the stadium and restore it to its former glory, the team made use of their own unemployed supporters and players to install poles in the Zuka Baloi Stadium.
They are also currently fixing holes in the grandstand, and giving it a new coat of paint, so as to create a safe environment for football followers.
On Sundays supporters clean the stadium after the games.
Their next project is to repair other equipment that have fallen into disrepair, more especially toilets for the women.
Mpho Naniso, secretary of the team, says their mission is to promote good sportsmanship, to create a safe and enjoyable environment for football teams and all football supporters in general.
“Mthimkhulu F.C would like to invite all football lovers to join the team as it grows daily. We also encourage community members to love and protect their own sports ground,” says Naniso.
