This friendly chap is one of the hundreds who make their living from rummaging through the rubbish dumped along the Virginia-Meloding road.
This stretch of “rubbish tip” is now more than 500 m long and reaches the Shell Garage circle at the entrance to Virginia.
The start of the residential homes is just beyond this circle. The problem emanates from the municipal waylay refuse station being inoperable and inaccessible.
