Show for engine lovers

It is all systems go for the much-anticipated Motor, Rotor and Bike Show has arrived, and on Saturday (06/08) enthusiasts of anything with an engine can look forward to an extravaganza par nonbar none.


It is all systems go for the much-anticipated Motor, Rotor and Bike Show has arrived, and on Saturday (06/08) enthusiasts of anything with an engine can look forward to an extravaganza par nonbar none.

This all will take place at the Riebeeckstad High School, and the gates will open at 08:00.

Lots of surprises await the public, and helicopters, cars and bikes of all shapes, sizes and makes are geared up and ready to go.

State of the art self-built bikes from Welkom will be seen, and participants will be coming from as far away as Cape Town to be part of this event.

Presented by Capital Sounds, Vistaand GoldFM, and hosted by the Welkom Classic Car Club, the show will present a variety of helicopters, including the elegant Gazelle and the impressive Alouette II and III, as well as the Bell Jet Ranger.

A large number of exotic motor­cycles and a collection of classic cars, including the ever-popular Porsches, Aston Martins, Citroëns, some classic Fords and a whole lot of older than 25-year-old favourites of yester­year, will also be on display.

There will be a variety of craft stallsand a variety of food stalls, entertainment for the children and much more.

A well-known brand car magazine will capture the event and do special interviews.

There will be loadsplenty of giveaways for publicattendees and exhibitors.

The extravaganza is home-grown, with the international broadcasting team Capital Sounds,which is based in Riebeeckstad, acting as the broadcaster and Vista and GoldFM as the media partners.

Tickets cost R30 for adults, R10 for children and children under 12 enter for free – if they pass the exciting age verification test.
