Two armed men robbed a Welkom security officer of his Mossberg shotgun, a 9mm CZ PO7 pistol, IPhone, Ipad Mini 4 tablet, identity document, bank cards and his firearm license.
On 05/07 at about 22:05 a 23-year-old security officer was on duty in Dagbreek, Welkom, when he was approached by two armed African men.
The armed men forced him to an nearby open field where they were joined by seven or eight men who then left for the Welkom Electrical sub station.
They left the victim with two of the suspects.
The victim then heard shots fired and all of the suspects fled on foot, including the two who were guarding him.
He managed to scream for help and he was rescued by security personnel and four Police officers.
A case of Armed Robbery was registered for further investigation.
