Goudveld Multisport will host the 45th AEIC Mielie Marathon taking place on Saturday, 20 January, starting from the Welkom Technical High School (THS).
The distances are 42,2 km, 21,1 km, 10 km, and a 5 km fun run.
This historic marathon is the oldest in the Free State and is an official qualifier for the Two Oceans and Comrades marathons. The marathon is renowned for offering a flat and fast route.
The fastest time by a male runner in the 42 km is 2:18:23, by Joseph Molaba in 2015. Woman runner Yolande Maclean clocked 2:57:42 in 2006.
