The Goudveld Multisport Club is set to host the Anco Ultramarathon on 12 March.

This race, a flat and fast circle route, is certified as a real trainer for both the Two Oceans and the Comrades Marathon.

Runners can opt for the 48 km (05:30), 32 km (06:00), 16 km (06:00) or 5 km (06:30) route.

The marathon starts and finishes at the clubhouse in Disa Street, Jim Fouché Park.

  • Interested parties can call Phillip McLaren, organiser, on 082-452-4569 for more information. The club consists of four disciplines: road running, walking, cycling and triathlon sport. The main aim of the club is to involve both young and old in the joy of sports.

“Goudveld Multisport prides itself on having extremely passionate and experienced athletes,” says Heidi McLaren, club spokesperson.

“Our club also presents a full programme of weekly time trials and long-distance training sessions. At the end of these sessions, we gather around a drink and share our training trials and tribulations – and many laughs.”
