Two cases of business robbery are being investigated by the Provincial Organized Crime Unit, after two suspects involved in robberies at petrol stations in Hennenman and Virginia were arrested in Ventersburg.
During the first incident on Thursday, 01 September at about 20:15, a 25-year-old cashier was on duty at a petrol station in Virginia when he was confronted by three armed men. They took an undisclosed amount of money and fled the scene in a silver Mercedez Benz. No shots were fired.
In another incident on 01 September at about 19:15, a 42-year-old petrol attendant in Hennenman was confronted by three armed men who proceeded to rob him of an undisclosed amount of money and petrol. They were driving a silver Mercedez Benz C Class.
After the robberies, the police stations in Hennenman and Virginia circulated that they were looking for the silver Mercedes Benz. Two 41-year-old suspects were arrested in Ventersburg on 02 September.
