Bernard Hughes, Welkom:
This is the reality of what motorists are faced with on a daily basis in the Koppie Alleen Road.
We are faced with cars braking to a near standstill as a result of the many deep, water-filled potholes by the persisting for the last decade or more sewerage problem in this street.
The William Street entrance is a rotten dam of stench. Perhaps a foul-smelling, rotting filth?
A road it was once, not so much anymore. At night many unaware motorists strike these holes, and end up with major damage to their vehicles. In some instances, even facing the possibility of losing one’s life.
Companies from outside the Goldfields pump and pump away at the bodies of water, but to no avail. It is a losing battle.
This letter’s accompanying photo depicts the sad reality of a decade long, or longer, issue.
There is no concern, not even a effort to temporary fill one of these deep, dangerous potholes.
But come election day people will continue to vote an incompetent government into power. This is beyond comprehension.
This street needs to be sorted out as a matter of urgency, before a serious incident takes place here.
