On 25 February the Goldfields Equestrian Centre in Welkom opened the new season of the Free State South African National Equestrian Schools Association (Sanesa) Championship.

The Stonepark Stables team represented St Dominic’s College.

Abigail Coetzee on her horse, Dageraad Wens, did well in their first show. The team placed first in the 90 cm novice equitation, first in the novice freestyle dressage, second in the level 3 performance, second in 90 cm working hunter, second in 1 m competition jumping, and second in the 1 m accumulator jumping events.

Demi-lee Coetzee and her horse, Princess Arna, took the lead in the primary school division.

This team was first in the 1 m competition jumping, first in 90 cm open equitation, and first in novice freestyle dressage.

Both riders are trained by Karika van der Linde.
