Shaylene Basson and her thorougbred (TB), Galileo, were crowned the 90 cm SA Show Jumping supreme champions of the TB Series.
This series was held at the Penbritte Equestrian Centre in Johannesburg on Saturday, 9 September. Shaylene and her other thoroughbred, High Society, came fifth overall in the same class.
Ryan Martin and Kadush were crowned the 1,1 m SA Show Jumping reserve champions in the TB Series.
Ryan also competed with his other horse, Callaho Larina, in the normal graded competition classes in conjunction with SA Show Jumping, and walked away with two first prizes in the 1 m Show Jumping A2 and two-phased events
The Thoroughbred Breeders’ Association (TBA) supports the responsible retirement of racehorses once their careers are over,
and are also a sponsor of Beyond Racing, an initiative to promote thoroughbreds in their new careers, highlighting their suitability across all disciplines.
