The Thabong Primary School, the first primary school built in the township in the 1950s, has been going through a rough start to the year following numerous incidents of the theft of school property, including a generator.

In a quest to rebuild the school, which has seen many prominent graduates like police officers, nurses and educators, the school management has embarked on a fundraising campaign that will kick off this Saturday (04/03) at the school.

“The event will start at 09:00, and all old learners are invited to attend and help their alma mater,” says Molema Mochudi, prominent Goldfielder and old learner of the school.

“This reunion is targeting all old learners of the school.

“Among the activities planned for the day will be a car wash, braai and jumping castle, as well as donations of sanitary products and toiletries,” says Mochudi.
