After 33 years of service, Tobie Louw has retired from the Welkom Technical High School (THS).
Louw was the Social Science teacher, and was actively involved in coaching the rugby team.
In 1980 he started coaching the U19D team, and continued coaching the rugby teams for the entirety of his career.
The staff held a braai in his honour and surprised him with gifts and video presentations of his journey over the past 33 years.
Louw also did the traditional ringing of the school bell at the end of his last shift.
“Technical High School would like to thank Louw for his great work over the years and wish him a blessed retirement,” says Eugene Rodgers, principal of THS.
